Hidden in Plain Sight: Finding Wonder Through Observation

1:45 pm -
2:45 pm

There is a universe everywhere you turn. In our busy lives, it’s easy to overlook the tiny details and quiet wonders hiding in plain sight. This interactive experience invites kids and families to engage in one of the most fundamental – and human – scientific practices: observation. We’ll begin with a short, captivating segment from Observer, a documentary film that follows observers – scientists, artists, a hunter – as they explore very different locations around the world. Then, using simple tools like the ones featured in the film, you’ll head outside on your own mini exploration- drawing or reflecting on what you see, engaging in fun group activities, and discovering surprising details in your surroundings. Come see what emerges right in front of you when you start looking a little closer.
