Family Maker Friday

Join us for a free community family maker event for K-12 students and their families. There will be both high-tech and classic maker activities provided. Explore more with microcontrollers, vinyl cutters, cardboard, 3D printing, chain mail, duct tape, virtual reality, and more! Free exploration encouraged.

Please note: A minimum of one adult per family or child group requested. COVID protocols will be required as determined by the host school.

COVID Information for this event

This Bay Area Science Festival event is an indoor and outdoor event that is following the county guidelines of Alameda County. Additional COVID requirements for this event include that masks are not required, but recommended. Masks will be required to enter the indoor classrooms.

Event Hosts

At Black Pine Circle School, a K-8 (elementary-middle) private school in Berkeley, California, we create lifelong learners through an inquiry-based Socratic education that places equal emphasis on academics and the arts.

COVID Safety

The Bay Area Science Festival will manage all in-person events with the health, safety and well-being of our staff, volunteers, hosts, exhibitors, and guests in mind. In response to COVID-19, we will be implementing public health requirements for all event hosts and attendees in accordance with local and state guidelines in order to celebrate science safely throughout the Bay Area. 

The Bay Area Science Festival encourages you to get vaccinated, wear a mask and practice social distancing. Be sure to check back for updated and more detailed COVID safety information prior to attending.
