Discovery Day at AT&T Park

This FREE event is unlike any other – with dynamic demonstrations, engaging experiments, geeky games and astounding activities for all ages! This super-charged, super-fun celebration will include hundreds of hands-on activities, untold opportunities to meet local scientists and engineers, and even the chance to run around the bases! The entire ballpark is packed to the rafters with science content: on the field, at every entry/exit, and every level of the ballpark.

What to Expect in 2018

  • More than 150 Exhibits

    Experience hundreds of hands-on activities from the Bay Area’s leading science and technology organizations. Universities, science museums, research labs, after-school groups, and local companies will all be there! Join us for an unprecedented opportunity to meet scientists, engineers, programmers, nurses, doctors, technician and more!

  • Chevron STEM Zone

    Join Chevron on the field for fun, interactive activities where you can get an inside-look at the science of sports, train like an astronaut, explore robotics and more!

  • Life Science Alley

    Experience the best of biotech with the Bay Area’s leading life science companies. Extract your DNA, explore your genes, and meet the scientists engineering the next cure.

  • Robot Zoo

    The Club level of AT&T Park will be overrun with robots of all shapes and sizes. Get up and close to robots built by students, startups, and research organizations.

  • NEW! Teen Area

    New in 2018, Discovery Day at AT&T Park will have a Teen Area on the Club level. Build, create and explore!  Join other teens as you engage in activities for teens, led by teens, scientists, engineers and educators.  Free giveaways and raffle prizes just for teens!

  • Mass Transit

    We encourage all attendees to take mass transit to AT&T Park. It is accessible by BART, Muni, Caltrain and close to ferries. For complete list of options, visit the AT&T Park mass transit site. **Please note: Caltrain is NOT serving the San Francisco (4th and King) or 22nd Street stations on weekends. This includes Saturday,  November 3 (Discovery Day at AT&T Park). Trains will terminate at Bayshore Station with free bus service to SF provided. See Caltrain site for more details and alternate transportation.

  • Parking

    Parking is available in Lot A for $15. Lot A is located directly south of AT&T Park.

  • Bike Parking

    Secure bike parking is available on the Portwalk near the Dignity Health Center, and is operated by the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, which is an independent contractor. Bicycles left at the bike parking lot are not the responsibility of the Bay Area Science Festival or the Giants.

    There is no charge for this service, but a donation can be made. All proceeds benefit the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition.

  • Food & Drink

    AT&T Park will have numerous food and drink concessions open at the ballpark, just like on a gameday. Vegetarian options will be available. Attendees can also bring in food and snacks. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.

  • Weather

    Event will be held rain or shine! Weather at the ballpark is variable – sometimes sunny, sometimes chilly, sometimes windy. Dress appropriately!

  • Pets

    Service animals are welcome at AT&T Park. Other pets are prohibited. Please refer to the AT&T Park FAQ for more information.
