This FREE event is unlike any other – with dynamic demonstrations, engaging experiments, geeky games and astounding activities for all ages! This super-charged, super-fun celebration will include hundreds of hands-on activities, untold opportunities to meet local scientists and engineers, and even the chance to run around the bases! The entire ballpark is packed to the rafters with science content: on the field, at every entry/exit, and every level of the ballpark.

What to Expect in 2020

  • UCSF @ Discovery Days

    Discover the mysteries of science with UCSF! Learn how our bodies work: how cells divide, how we hear, how neurons communicate with each other and more. Thanks to our UCSF family for supporting the event and sharing your science with the Bay!

  • Chevron STEM Zone

    Visit the NEW Chevron STEM Zone! Play baseball using a revolutionary new Virtual Reality headset, compete with a friend to see who can power a plane higher, look inside yourself through thermal imaging, and more. Discover what STEM career paths could be in your future!

  • Life Science Alley

    Explore biotechnology activities with a dozen leading Bay Area companies in Life Science Alley. Extract your DNA, explore your genes, and meet the scientists engineering the next cure.

  • Teen Area

    Check out our Teen Area with STEM activities for teens – led by teens! Create, build, and explore. Performances from local teens in the lounge space, raffle prizes, and free give-aways. Don’t miss out on this exclusive area, just for teens.

  • Robot Zoo

    Interact and play with robots that have been built by industry groups, academia, and school clubs in the Robot Zoo. Located on the Club level of Oracle Park, the Robot Zoo will be overrun with robots of all shapes and sizes.

  • Mass Transit

    We encourage all attendees to take mass transit to Oralce Park. It is accessible by BART, Muni, Caltrain and close to ferries. For complete list of options, visit the Oracle Park mass transit site.

  • Bike Parking

    Secure bike parking is available on the Portwalk near the Dignity Health Center, and is operated by the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, which is an independent contractor. Bicycles left at the bike parking lot are not the responsibility of the Bay Area Science Festival or the Giants.

    There is no charge for this service, but a donation can be made. All proceeds benefit the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition.

  • Food & Drink

    Oracle Park will have numerous food and drink concessions open at the ballpark, just like on a gameday. Vegetarian options will be available. Attendees can also bring in food and snacks. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.

  • Water

    Water bottle filling stations will be available on the field and on all levels of the ballpark. Please bring a reusable water bottle.

  • Weather

    Event will be held rain or shine! Weather at the ballpark is variable – sometimes sunny, sometimes chilly, sometimes windy. Dress appropriately!
